I get asked all the time about doing what I do and how I got started, so I’m literally going to break it down for you in this blog post and share with you exactly how I learned to do what I do.

In this blog post, I’m going to go over everything you need to know about the best side hustle for mom/the best side hustle ideas from home: being a Pinterest VA/Manager (the terms are interchangeable). Here’s what we’ll be covering:

  • What Is A Pinterest VA
  • What An Average Day As A PVA Looks Like
  • Why It’s A Perfect Side Hustle (or even full time business) For Moms
  • How To Get Started

So if you’re ready to learn more about starting a side hustle from home, let’s dive in.

But before we dive in–if you’re new here let me introduce myself. My name is Sidnee, and I’m a Pinterest Marketing strategist and educator who helps female entrepreneurs show up online when in reality they are enjoying life offline.

With three kiddos three and under, I know that as business owners we want so badly to bring in some form of passivity to their business–whether that be passive email opt-ins, leads, or even sales, and I truly believe that a Pinterest funnel is the way to do that.

Okay, back to the good stuff.

Let’s Chat The Best Side Hustle Ideas From Home–AKA The Best Side Hustle For Moms

What Even Is A Pinterest VA?

A Pinterest VA is someone who helps business owners grow their presence on the Pinterest Platform.

As a Pinterest VA or manager, you would go into a business owners Pinterest account and do everything from writing optimized Pinterest Pin Copy, creating graphics, optimizing Pinterest profiles, and scheduling Pins.

There’s so much that you could offer/adapt to make this work for you and your lifestyle.

Like to write? Offer something like my copy management service where you send clients optimized Pin titles and descriptions for them to copy & paste onto Pinterest.

Like creating graphics/have an eye for design? You can create Pin templates to sell for passive income as well as offer a service where you create custom Pin templates on a retainer basis or simply just Pinterest templates for a business owner to use for themselves.

Or what’s most popular is taking everything off of a business owner’s plate when it comes to Pinterest. You would be in charge of keeping the account updated with researching keywords, writing descriptions and titles, creating graphics, and scheduling the content.

Now I know what you’re thinking–how much money can I actually make doing this? Well, I see people in this industry charging anywhere from $400–$2000 per client depending on the service they offer.

So yeah, you can actually make money doing this.

What does an average day as a Pinterest VA look like?

This varies from person to person. Like me, I have three kiddos three and under, so the majority of my days are spent with my kids. But, in the crevices of the day and during nap times, you’ll find me working.

When I first started out, I would work in the really early hours of the morning, and be completely done with work the rest of the day.

When I was focusing on clients with kids, my capacity was about 5 clients per month. I would spend about 2 hours on their accounts every single week, for about 10 hours of client work per week. I also did other things for my business,, so It’s more like 10-15 hours a week for me (social media, email marketing, courses/education) but that still leaves me with plenty of intentional kid time.

When I was first starting out, here’s what my days looked like:

5am: wake up before kids got up, do an hour of client work

7-12 pm– morning activities, playing outside, lunch, etc.

Nap time: 1-2 more hours of work. Finish up anything client related, and then move onto another task (email marketing, blogging, pitching clients on upwork, social media,etc.).

Afternoon–spend intentional time with kids + family

Evening/After kids go down: do another hour of work before bed while watching Netflix.

Now I know that everyone doesn’t have the luxury of staying home with your kids, but if you’re trying to start a business from home you can have a similar schedule.

An hour in the morning, eat and work during your lunch break, and then an hour in the evenings.

Boom.

15 hours of work.

Why Is Being A Pinterest VA the Perfect Side Hustle For Moms?

To put it simply: it’s a real business that you can work in the nook and crannies of your days.

And while I love NWM and think it’s a real opportunity for some people, if you don’t have the right upline or resources to help you, there’s a good chance that you won’t be successful.

With something like this, you’re able to get clients and work for them, knowing that you have money coming in every single month.

It also doesn’t require you to be on the phone, or even build a social media presence if you don’t want to.

Another plus is that it gives you a creative outlet if you’re a busy mama who is craving some creativity amidst the chaos.

Okay, Cool. So How Do I Become A Pinterest VA?

In short: you just do! I started out because I was a blogger that had a Pin go viral, and I saw the power of Pinterest for my blog.

I wanted to show other mamas how to use a platform that they were probably already using for meal planning/event planning/party planning/outfit inspo for their businesses.

But I also needed help with the whole “how do I make a business out of this.”

That’s when I made the investment in The Pinterest VA School and learned everything I needed to know about not only Pinterest for business, but the business side of running Pinterest for businesses.

It’s a course by Emily & Bri over at Let’s Get Social Agency, and they are truly the best teachers out there when it comes to being a Pinterest VA.

There’s also an incredible FB support group as well as client leads to help you get started!

So if you’re looking for a course/the exact steps to get started, I recommend checking out The Pinterest VA School.

Make sure to use this link to snag some incredible bonuses (like client leads, email templates, and more!), and hopefully I’ll see you inside the FB group for the Pinterest VA School!
