March 14, 2023

I know you’ve heard it–blogging is dead. But is it? The answer is a fat no. Blogging is NOT dead, especially when you are blogging for your business.

Now I know what you are thinking. Should I really be spending my precious time as an entrepreneur blogging for my business when I have 7 million other things on my to-do list?

To put it simply, yes, you should be.

Still not convinced? Here are 7 reasons to start blogging for your business today.

1) Blogging will establish credibility and authority in your industry

The beautiful thing about blogging for your business is that with a blog post, you can establish yourself as an expert in your industry. You get to share mini-trainings and thoughts as well as how-to’s relating to you and your business in a way that you don’t always get to on social media since blog posts are long-form pieces of content.

Think about it this way–if you were looking to hire a social media manager or another contractor for your business, you would go through their website with a fine-tooth comb to see who they are, what they’re about, and what they can do for you.

When you have those blog posts, you give people a tiny glimpse into what you can do and what you know.

I don’t know about you, but I would hire someone who has a ton of blog posts that I could read through versus someone who doesn’t have any.

2) Blogging for your business will increase brand awareness and visibility

If you’re running a business, it’s so important that people know your business exists and who you are. With blogging, you can increase brand awareness while at the same time increasing your visibility.

For example, if you own a local cafe, launching blog posts on topics relevant to breakfast preferences or local things to do in your area, could result in increased customers and awareness as well as revenue.

Another example is if you are a website copywriter, you can share copywriting tips in a blog post, why people should hire you, or even a day in the life post to humanize you a bit.

3) Blogging can improve your website’s search engine ranking

Regularly updating and revising your website is essential for SEO (aka Search Engine Optimization), but that doesn’t mean that your ideal client or customer will find you. To optimize its search engine ranking, creating new and fresh content is very beneficial.

Be intentional about posting new content and regularly updating old content Make sure that what you’re posting is current and relevant to what your audience is searching for – this will help increase traffic to your site, boost conversions, and generate more leads!

4) Blogging allows you to engage with your audience and build a community

At this point, you understand the importance of blogging for your business. But how can you take it a step further? This is where the true beauty of a blog comes into play.

By creating and cultivating an online community within your blog posts and your website, you can foster relationships with customers, drive traffic and increase brand awareness. You can also use blogging as a great tool to grow your email list.

Invite people who are reading your blog to get to know you even better and join your email list or offer a freebie that is relevant to what your blog post is about as a little parting gift.

5) Blogging for your business can generate leads and sales

The ultimate goal of any business online is to generate leads and sales. And, with an effective blog & blogging strategy, that’s what you’ll get!

When a dream client or customer is exposed to your content that is engaging and well-written, they may be enticed to take action. In turn, this could result in greater engagement – which could ultimately lead to more conversions in your business.

I promise you, once you start consistently blogging, the sales and inquiries to work with are not a coincidence. With SEO optimization in place as well as a blogging strategy, it is so possible for your businesses to reap incredible benefits!

BONUS TIP: Stay current and up-to-date with industry trends and news

Blogging forces you to stay up to date on all of the latest industry trends and news.

Here’s the reality, there’s no better way to attain visibility and recognition than by staying in the know of current happenings within your industry and being the one to bring awareness to those updates and happenings.

You will quickly be the one that people turn to when things change in your niche or industry.
