Tired Of Growing Your Business With Instagram?

November 28, 2022

Tired of solely growing your business with Instagram? Are you creating reel after reel and still not getting the results you want?

If that’s you, I encourage you to stop putting all of your eggs in the Instagram basket, and put some into Pinterest marketing. I know, I know.  It can be scary and overwhelming to learn a new platform, but once you learn the ins and outs of Pinterest marketing for your business, you’ll be making sales in your sleep.

Let’s dive into why you should add Pinterest to your marketing strategy today, and stop focusing on growing your business with Instagram.

Repurpose, Repurpose, Repurpose

The biggest secret to success on Pinterest? Repurposing your content. Believe it or not, you don’t have to create a ton of new content to be successful on Pinterest.

Here’s some ideas:

  • Repurpose a Reel or TikTok as an Idea Pin. Choose one that you have created that inspires or solves a problem. Download your short form video without the watermark (I use (SnapTik or SnapInsta, both free on desktop), and upload it as an Idea Pin. Add an additional final slide of a relevant photo or a plain image of one of your brand colors, and add a CTA with native Pinterest text. Use keywords (if you need help with finding keywords, you can download my free keyword guide here!) in your Pin title and description, add at least 5 relevant tags, save it to a relevant board, and you are good to go! Only a few minutes of work for you, without having to come up with an additional content idea for a social media platform.
  • Pull a subheading from your most recent blog post and add it to a Static Pin. Create a scroll stopping Pin in Canva, write a keyword-rich description and Pin title, and post it or schedule it for late.
  • Repurpose your IG carousel post as a Pinterest carousel Pin. In Canva, copy and resize your carousel to Pin size, then upload your carousel Pin to Pinterest, add a keyword rich title and description, choose a relevant board, and you’re good to go!

You don’t have to come up with content ideas for Pinterest specifically , just use the content you already have and optimize it for Pinterest!

Your Pinterest strategy is unique to you, and can align with your business goals.

Let’s talk strategy.

  • You don’t have to post a million times a day to have Pinterest success. Current best practices are pinning 1-5 times per day. Can’t swing that? Just start with posting constantly 2x a week and go up from there. The key: consistency.
  • Your Pinterest strategy aligns with your business goals and can help you achieve them. Are you trying to grow your email list? Make sure you are promoting your email opt-ins. Are you trying to get more followers on your social platforms? Link back to your social media channels. Are you trying to get more people to your website? Make sure you’re linking to your website with static pins, and putting your URL in Idea Pin notes (until you get the idea Pin link feature). Your strategy should not be the same as someone else’s, and what works for someone else might not work for you. Why? Because you have different businesses and goals! That’s the beauty of Pinterest.

Pinterest is more of an even playing field then Instagram.

Even if you have zero followers on Pinterest, if you’re using the right keywords, you have scroll stopping Pins, and a good website for people to go back to, you have just as much of an opportunity as someone who has a million followers or impressions.  The playing field is much more even, as Pinterest is more of a search engine than a social media platform.

I hope that those things encourage you to dip your toes into Pinterest Marketing, and stop putting all of your eggs into the “growing my business on Instagram” basket. The best part? I’m here to help you along the way!

"They" say you aren't supposed to put out educational content on IG. Good thing I don't listen.
