As a Pinterest Marketing Strategist & Educator, the majority of the DM’s that slide into my inbox consist of something along the lines of will Pinterest Marketing work for my business?
The short answer: yes.
I truly believe that every single business can benefit from Pinterest marketing, buuuttttt you may have to get creative as to how you make it work with your personal business since people are online now then they ever were before.
If you’re still unsure if your business should be on Pinterest, here’s a quick list of business types that can benefit from Pinterest:
- Online Business- Think Social Sellers, Network Marketers, Affiliate Marketers, Influencers, UGC creators, Bloggers & Lifestyle brands, course creators, etc.
- Service Providers- Think Social media managers, photographers, law firms, athletic training, housekeeping, consulting, designers, advising, therapists, freelancers, etc.
- Real Estate- with home decor and architecture being some of the highest searched keywords on Pinterest, annnndd the fact that Pinterest users are planners, you should 100% add Pinterest into your marketing strategy.
- Local Businesses- If you sell anything online, you should be on Pinterest. But even if you don’t and your ideal audience is on Pinterest, you can create a Pinterest account and use Pinterest ads to target people where you live so that Pinterest users can find you.
- Retail + Ecommerce- People come on Pinterest to be inspired and ready to buy things.
- Non Profits- Pinterest is an inspiring platform, so when you have a small advertising budget and Pinterest users, your Pinterest ads can go a long way.

3 Questions to ask to see if Pinterest could benefit your business:
1 .What are my short and long term goals?
Are you trying to grow an email list? Are you looking to expand your business into online guides, courses, presets, etc.? Basically, are you looking to use the internet to grow your business now or in the future?
2. Are your dream clients on Pinterest?
From what we know about Pinterest, pinterest users are planners, shoppers, and looking for inspiration. So if your business is anything that helps users plan, you have products for them to buy, or you can offer some form of inspiration, there’s a real good chance your dream people are on the platform.
3.Are you willing to invest your time into Pinterest Marketing?
It’s no secret that Pinterest is a little bit delayed when it comes to seeing the results you might hope to see with Pinterest. However, you don’t need to spend multiple hours every single day (or even week) when it comes to your Pinterest marketing. You just need to find something that works and stay consistent.
In fact, the majority of my Pinterest in A Day Clients only want to spend an hour or so on Pinterest Marketing every week, and so when I create their custom strategy, I keep that in mind.
My own personal Pinterest strategy takes me about 45 minutes every week.
